Regional Arts Triennial III image
The WA Regional Arts Triennial is a regionally-led capacity building cycle of development to strengthen confidence, capability and interconnectivity within WA’s regional visual arts sector. The purpose is to develop and deliver an ongoing series of interconnected professional development opportunities for regionally based artists, arts-workers and arts organisations that build networks of support and exchange, embed creative career pathways and showcase WA’s regional creative and cultural expertise.

Radical Futures is the core theme for the third Regional Arts Triennial, which will comprise of a group of regional exhibitions and performances developed and presented across Western Australia during 2025 and early 2026. A subsequent selective showcase will be shown in John Curtin Gallery in Perth in September 2026 bringing regional futures to metropolitan Western Australia.

Lead curator of the Regional Arts Triennial, Sarah Roots announced the theme Radical Futures.
"For the third iteration of the Regional Arts Triennial we look to the future, building upon the legacy of the past. Standing upon the shoulders of The Alternative Archive, which explored historical cultural capital of the past, and Open Borders, which interrogated contemporary barriers of the present—Radical Futures continues this trajectory, creating aspirational visions of the future for regional Western Australia"
- Sarah Roots, Lead Curator
